Summer Mini Project Plan


The following plan needs to be followed for the mini project :

Week 1 : Define, Investigate and Analyse

Checklist for this week
- Define the game tic-tac-toe
- Write up the rules of the game.
- Investigate how the end user would like the game
- Write up any questions, and analysis of answers obtained
- Investigate how to use Scratch and using the sample game provided (include a description of basic ideas of how you might use the features in Scratch to solve this problem)
- Analyse what you might needs to meet the requirements
- Justification for hardware and software used
- Write up the requirements

All this work to be submitted to CF, end of period 2 Thursday 14 June 2012.

Week 2 : Design you Scratch Solution

Checklist for this week
- Define the nature of the solution
- Describe the algorithms to be used
- Describe how you will test each area (full test plan)
This should include the sequence in which the components will be created and tested to ensure the end solution matches requirements.

All this work to be submitted to AQ, end of period 2 Thursday 21 June 2012.

Week 3 : Develop and Test

Checklist for this week
- Create your source code / or customise the code provided
- Annotate all code to explain the algorithms and what is happening (right click the block area)
- Create evidence of coding: screen shot all code, and any variables
- Annotate screen shots to describe your design
- Create evidence of testing by using screen shots of tests which fail and test which succeed
- Annotate each set of screen shots for a specific test or group of tests

All this work to be submitted to CF, end of period 2 Thursday 28 June 2012.

Week 4 : Document

Checklist for this week
- Collect all evidence from previous weeks into a single report
- Set report common features like page numbers, page headers and footers, use heading to have a well structured report and lastly create a contents page

All this work to be submitted to AQ, end of period 2 Thursday 5 July 2012.

CEW - 9 - 13 July - this week is used for a variety of tasks. If you are behind with your mini-project you will be asked to come in to school to ensure that it is up to date.

Week 5: Evaluation

Checklist for this week
- Document how well the solution meets the requirements
- Get feedback from your user, document and review feedback from your user
- Document possible extensions for the solution, and roughly how they can be achieved.
